A San Martinho Tribute to Leo Rogers

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Leo Rogers, a long-serving architect, contractor and friend whose work helped shape San Martinho Beach Club into the piece of paradise it is today. His sudden loss has left a deep void in our team and the broader San Martinho community.
Leo had just turned 60 and recently celebrated the incredible milestone with a cross-country motorcycle trip through Vietnam, joined by his lifelong friends. His unexpected passing, after a brief illness, came as a great shock to us all. The news was devastating to his loved ones and all who knew him, and our hearts are with them during this difficult time.
Leo's connection to San Martinho Beach Club spanned many years and touched nearly every part of the resort's development. From new builds to major renovations, he approached each project with a calm professionalism and unwavering dedication. His steady presence became a hallmark of our progress and a source of confidence and trust for everyone involved.
Leo was known for his organisation, integrity and willingness to assist wherever he could. He was well-liked and respected by his business partner, David Cossa and by the large team of workers he led. His professionalism was complemented by a strong sense of care, consideration, and collaboration across teams and projects. He had our best interests in mind just as much as his own, and that mutual respect created an environment where every project felt like a shared success.
David Velayutham, our Resort Manager, who joined San Martinho just a year ago, shared this tribute after working closely with Leo in recent months:

Leo's presence is woven into the fabric of San Martinho Beach Club. His contributions, both seen and unseen, have not been taken for granted and will not be forgotten. Our thoughts are with his beloved wife Debbie, their three children and all who knew, admired and loved him.
